8th International Educational Conference Takes Place at AAU

College of Education and Behavioral studies of Addis Ababa University and Higher Education Strategy Center organized the 8th International Educational Conference with the theme “Education for Enhanced Competence, Entrepreneurship, and Professionalism” from May 30-31, 2019 at Dire International Hotel, Adama.

Prof. Tassew Woldehanna, President of Addis Ababa University, said in his opening speech, “Addis Ababa University attaches a special significance to this international research conference as the conference brings the university into direct and close contact with the key actors of the education sector of this country. And this international forum would generate innovative ideas and new insights as to how to proceed forward in our educational reform initiatives”.

Prof. Tassew further noted that the conference would bring scholars and key policy makers face to face to inform one another felt gaps and areas of priorities and of current public, private and international interests in the education sector.

His Excellency Dr. Geremew Huluqa, FDRE state minister of the Ministry of Education, said in his remark that, “the government of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia and the Ministry will continue to provide their full support towards meaningfully improving the life and the working conditions of teachers at all levels in this country in particular and the education sector in general.”

Dr. Geremew also said, “This conference will come up with viable evidence-based strategic directions to advise and inform policy makers and the government to even better transform the education sector to the best needs of the country and take our overall development to a new height.”

Different scholars and researchers presented their research findings on topics related to education quality, and they received certificates in recognition of their contributions.
