AAU celebrates Research Day

Addis Ababa University celebrated Annual Research Day On June 14, 2018 at Eshetu Chole Hall.

Principal investigators presented findings of ending thematic researches, adaptive research and collaborative researches during the event.

Colleges and institutes best performed in research and publication were also recognized on the occasion.

Prof. Tassew Woldehanna, AAU President, in his opening remarks stated that as part of its endeavor to undertake problem solving research and enhance community engagement services, AAU has been conducting researches in various disciplines to tackle society’s grand challenges and enhance economic development.

Increasing our research involvement, said the president, has also unparalleled opportunities for students to discover, learn, and to be prepared for the competitive global challenge.

“Research is responsible for advancing transformative excellence; without research there is no better curriculum, quality education and future knowledge generation. Research fosters professionalism, critical thinking and gather insights to inform future activities.” Said Prof. Zerihun Woldu, Director of Research and Delegate Vice President for Research and Technology Transfer, AAU.

The event convened a diverse set of participants from all colleges and institutes of the university.
