AAU Holds Discussion on Nine-month Plan Performance Report

Addis Ababa University (AAU) held an intellectual discussion regarding the 2015 E.C. Fiscal Year nine-month plan implementation report in the presence of the University’s higher officials, college deans as well as heads of academic departments at the Main Campus on May 10, 2023.

Abdurazak Mohammed (PhD), AAU’s Chief Planning Officer, in his presentation said that there were a series of discussions that enabled the University’s academics to perform tasks including the preparation of work list plans to implement exit exam on graduate students.

According to Dr. Abdurazak, best proposals among those which participated for the call of the 8th round problem-solving researches have been selected to start their research works.

Regarding research publication and recognition, the chief planning officer stated that several thousands of scientific research articles have been collected for publication. It was also able to disseminate the research findings by organizing many national as well as international seminars and workshops in various colleges and institutions, he added.

Dr. Abdurazak further stated that Addis Ababa University has signed memorandum of understanding with nine institutions to strengthen its ties with the industry; it has also provided consulting and training services to eight institutions.

Software has been developed, as stated by Dr. Abdurazak, to update planning and reporting; and five rounds of training have been conducted for planning, monitoring and evaluation tasks in colleges and centres, as well as for ICT experts and assistant administrations.

Emebet Mulugeta (PhD), Academic Vice President of AAU, in her brief presentation said, “The Office of Graduate Programs conducted auditing of the existing graduate programs as part of the assessment and performance evaluation work carried out by our office regarding the preparation task for the upcoming autonomy.”
