AAU signs MoU with IRD
To further strengthen its joint and collaborative endeavors, Addis Ababa University has signed two Memorandum of Understandings (MoU) with the Institute of Research for Development (IRD) on August 1, 2014 at the Office of the President, Addis Ababa University.
Dr. Admasu Tsegaye, President of Addis Ababa University and Dr. Alain Borgel, the Representative of IRD in East Africa have signed the collaborative agreements on behalf of the two institutions.
The first is a general agreement for scientific cooperation covering all the activities of the collaboration between IRD and the AAU until July 2018, including the two already existing scientific cooperation «Migration, Territories and Governance » and « Food-based strategies to fight against malnutrition of at risks groups in Ethiopia ».
The second joint agreement entitled as« East African runners – Socially constructed sport abilities” is a new collaborative research which opens the joint program between URMIS and the Department of Sport Science, College of Natural Sciences
This partnership agreement is hoped by both institutions to co-create, co-manage and co-finance the scientific programs, current and upcoming and to co-publish the research outcomes. In overall, they allow a contribution to sustainable economic and social development of the country by strengthening the capacity building in research, higher education, training, and innovation.
