AAU, Swiss Federal Institute of Technology Zurich sign agreement

The Addis Ababa University (AAU) and Swiss Federal Institute of Technology Zurich signed Memorandum of Understanding to access software freely on July 20, 2018 at AAU Office of the President.

 The agreement intends to promote innovation, entrepreneurship and technology transfer in cooperation with the Tesfallg Foundation, Switzerland within the frame work of its SwissTesfallg Entrepreneurs Program (STEP).

Commending the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology, Professor Tassew Woldhanna, AAU President, said during the agreement, the software brings a great change in making business plan. “It helps both students and instructors through changing their projects and innovative ideas in to practical work,” said the president.

The cost of the software estimates more than six hundred thousand dollar and also it needs 20 thousand dollar for maintenance per year.

This technology is imported by Engineer Dawit Tesfaye, Manager of Tesfallg Foundation. Engineer Dawit Tesfaye linked the Addis Ababa University and his foundation to import this highly important technology for free.

Professor Tassew woldhanna, AAU President and Dawit Tesfaye President of Tesfallg Foundation have signed the agreement on behalves of the Addis Ababa University and Swiss Federal Institute of Technology Zurich respectively.
