College of Humanities Runs its 28th Annual Conference

Addis Ababa University (AAU) College of Humanities, Language Studies, Journalism and Communications (CHLSJC) held its 28th annual conference virtually from 26-27 Oct 2020.

The conference incorporated presentation of research articles and analyses delivered by different scholars focused on Ethiopian languages, literature, folklore, language teaching, the role of media and public relations.

Emebet Mulugeta (PhD), Academic Vice President of AAU, noted that AAU is teaching and studying diverse indigenous and foreign languages included in its academic programs.

“We are expected to teach, conduct studies, publish journal articles and disseminate them down to the community in order to promote languages, cultures and ethnic diversity,’’ added Dr. Emebet.

Amanuel Alemayehu (PhD), Dean of CHLSJC, stated that the College is thriving to provide quality education while also enhancing its research capacity to advance scientific based social problem-solving mechanisms.

According to Dr. Amanuel, the College strives towards internationalization of its progress and also shows great experience in conducting conferences both at national and international levels even in the hard times of the Corona pandemic.

Participants elaborated the conference through discussions by raising different questions and suggestions, touching relevant issues connected to the research presentations.
