Office of the Students’ Dean Conducts Training to New Entry UG Students

The Addis Ababa University (AAU) Students’ Dean Office conducted training for new entry undergraduate students conveying how they should lead life with regard to their rights and responsibilities during their stay in the University at the Main Campus and Eshetu Chole Hall on the 7th of May 2022.

Officials from different colleges of the University officially launched the training with a welcoming messages indicating that students are expected to be sociable, mutually supportive and striving to create peaceful learning environment.

The officials added that the AAU in general and the colleges in particular will be by the students’ side to do whatever they need during their stay and the entire university community is ready to work together to make it a successful and pleasant stay in the University.

An in-depth training was provided by various experts on the general rights and responsibilities of the students as well as specific practices of what they should and should not do during their stay at the University.

Peaceful and well mannered communication with all University community; the use of words and gestures that should not infringe the rights of others; participating in various clubs including the students’ council at the University and the like were the basic point that the students got in the training.

Reflections from the students indicated that the training will help them to know what to do and what not to do during their future stay in the University.

The training included students of Social Science, Humanities, Journalism and Communication, Education and Behavior Studies, Natural and Computational Sciences as well as the School of Commerce.
