Academic Preference Instructions and Schedule

For the 2013 E.C. First Year Students

On the https://portal.aau.edu.et in your home page are listed as in indicated below to the various disciplines offered in the academic units for students assigned on the colleges/programs. You are required to indicate your choices, in rank order, by choosing the number (1, 2, 3 …) in front of each discipline/program in the preference form.

Note:

1. You have to submit your preferences yourself through our online system, by using https://portal.aau.edu.et
2. Or else, you can go to your nearest registrar office and request a clerk to assist you in submitting this request online. You must have username and password to enter into the portal.
3. If you fail to submit your preference before the set deadline, you would have lost the opportunity for the placement system to take your preference into consideration and the placement system will place you in a discipline of its choosing.

2. Dental Medicine (There will be entrance examination by the College)

4. Pharmacy (There will be possibly entrance examination by the College)
5. Veterinary Medicine (There will be possibly entrance examination by the College)
6. Veterinary Laboratory Technology
7. Pre-engineering AAIT
8. Pre-engineering EIABC
9. Computer Science
10. Information System
11. Other Natural Science

B. Possible colleges/schools/departments for Choice for Social Science students

1. Law
2. Other Social Sciences

C. Placement Criteria and Schedule

1. October 02 Orientation to students on their preferences.
2. October 03 to October 08 Students will fill online their preferences
3. Students who are interested to join Medicine, Dental Medicine, Pharmacy and Veterinary Medicine should sit for entrance Exam prepared by the colleges. Number of students who can sit for entrance exam will be decided by the Colleges.
4. Those students who will sit for entrance exam will be screened by the registrar based on their choice and Result (EUEE + First Semester GPA)
5. The potential candidate list who can sit for entrance exam will be communicated to the relevant colleges and the candidates (students) on October 11.
6. The colleges (CHS and CVM) will conduct the entrance exam on October 12 and 13.
7. On October 15 the colleges (CHS and CVM) will inform the registrar those students who have passed the selection criteria (EUEE + First Semester GPA + Entrance Exam 30%) for School of Medicine, School of Pharmacy and College of Veterinary Medicine.
8. Candidates who sat for entrance exam but were not able to join one of the above mentioned schools (Medicine, Pharmacy, Veterinary)  will be placed to other colleges based on their result (EUEE (Ethiopian University Entrance Exam) 50%, First Semester Result (50%) )
9. All other students will be placed to their preference based on their (EUEE (Ethiopian University Entrance Exam) 50%, and First Semester Result (50%) by the registrar on October 16, 2021.
10. Second semester registration will be on October 18, 2021.
11. Second semester classes begin on October 19, 2021.
