Community engagements

Many of the research engagements by the faculties in the College of Development Studies have diverse impacts in the communities where the results are applied.  Among others, the staff:

  • Provides extension services to change the lives for many rural people through watershed developments and conservation activities;
  • Promotes researches that expand irrigation practices to support the livelihoods of the communities;
  • Organize and deliver trainings that could empower the capacities of women, children, youths and other employees in different sectors;
  • Involve in media briefings on relevant themes of development such as green development, sustainable development, afforestation, rural transformation, institutional reforms, etc;
  • Engage in the advice of major development and economic sectors that would positively impact the lives of several citizens; and
  • Publish scientifically reviewed journals to the addition of the stock of knowledge in the areas of development.
