Brief Biography

Dr. Tiliksew Teshome is an ophthalmologist and vitreo-retina Surgeon. He got his medical degree and postgraduate certificate in Ophthalmology from the Medical Faculty of Addis Ababa University. He did fellowships and observer ships at different places including the Doheney Eye Institute in Los Angeles. He is a pioneer in vitreo-retina services in Ethiopia and was the first VR surgeon who introduced vitrectomy in the country. Currently he is an associate professor at the Department of Ophthalmology, College of Health Sciences. Previously, he had served as the head of the Department and had also served as the President of the Ophthalmological Society of Ethiopia. He is a also member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology and European Retina Society (EURETINA) besides several other regional and international societies.
