The Center has been conducting a monthly Pan-African Seminar Series since 2013/14 academic year. It also has launched seminars on contemporary issues pertaining to the Middle East since 2015/16 academic year. The seminar covers contemporary topics of relevance to Pan-African and Middle Eastern discourse mainly focusing on the social, political, economic and environmental issues. Accordingly, a total of 13 Pan-African seminars were held during 2013/14 and 2014/15, 8 during 2015/16 academic year and in 2016/17 academic year, 5 Pan-African and Middle Eastern seminars. In the year 2017/18, the Center has conducted 10 Pan-African seminars. This year we have conducted 2 Pan-African seminars so far and will continue working on it. The presenters are predominantly scholars from outside AAU (e.g. from AU, IGAD, Private Sector, scholars and PhD students from overseas) with considerable participation from the University and the Center’s staff. The Center is looking for funding opportunities to publish the seminar output at the end of each academic year.
