Research and Scholarly Activities

Staff members have been conducting academic and policy-oriented researches. The main research interests of our faculty include, inter alia, rural sociology and development, health and wellbeing, and urban sociology and development. Policymakers and people in the area of planning have benefited a lot from the researches carried out by the staff of the department. Besides academic researches for selected research organizations; members of the staff consult different national and international organizations in conducting needs assessments and evaluate the impact of their intervention.

The contribution of our staff members can best be epitomized by the publication of their works in international and local social sciences and development studies journals. This is a sign of immense potential on the side of both senior and junior faculty members.
