Mission and Vission

Vision

The college of Veterinary Medicine and Agriculture aspires to become a regional center of excellence in teaching, research and community services in the area of animal health and production that would contribute to sustainable improvement of health and productivity of animals at their highest practicable and economic level, subsequently alleviating poverty and safeguarding the public from health hazards originating from animals and foods of animal origin.

Mission statements

  • Provision of high standard and problem-solving training in animal health and production at different levels to produce professionals of exemplary human qualities;
  • Conduct of basic and productive applied research in animal health and production and agriculture;
  • Provision of high standard animal health services supported by state-of-the-art diagnostic facilities;
  • Foster partnerships and working relationships with all stakeholders: public, private and aid organizations;
  • Making research-driven knowledge and technology available to end-users;
  • Creating favorable environment for the promotion of sound scholarship to explore and democratically debate on issues of cultural pluralism, tolerance, gender, professionalism, etc.;
  • Fostering multidisciplinary approach in teaching, research and service provision;
  • Networking with national as well as international teaching, research and development institutions to facilitate skill development and knowledge transfer;
  • Supporting the goals of the Addis Ababa University by extending teaching, research and service provision as appropriate to university programs and activities outside the college;
