UNDERGRADUATE (B.SC) PROGRAM
The B.Sc Degree Program in Biology is a 3 year programe at present Students must take 58 credit hours of courses in Biology. And can choose 10 credit have of courses from the list o elective courses offered each semester. A total of 68 credit hour of Biology courses is required for graduation. Moreover, 20 credit hour of chemistry courses and 19 credit hour of general and supportive course are required for graduate.
At present there are abort 350 registered student the undergraduate program and the annual intake is about 120 students every year.
Objectives the undergraduate
- To produce well trained biologists to meet the manpower needs of various institutions of the country.
- To produce graduates that have broad knowledge in the life sciences and the basic tenets of the scientific method.
- To produce graduates that are capable of independently formulating research projects based on problems and needs of the society;
- To prepare graduates for higher training at M.Sc and PhD levels;
- To produce graduates that can play positive role in such applied areas agriculture forestry, health, industry, environmental and Biodiversity conservation
Admission requirements
- Passing grades in Mathematics and Science in University Entrance Examination or equivalent.
- Candidates who have a diploma from higher institutions of learning and who fulfill the requirements for advanced standing.
