Internal Vacancy Announcement Research Unit Leaders for the Institute of Development and Policy Research

The Office of the Vice President for Research and Technology Transfer (VPRTT):-  is seeking to appoint Unit Leaders for research Units established within the Institute of Development and Policy Research, a research wing of the Colleges of Social Sciences, Development Studies and Business and Economics. The research Units are:

  • Rural Development Unit
  • Environment and Natural Resource Management Unit
  • Industrial Development and Trade Unit
  • Urban Management and Development Unit
  • Gender and Population Unit
  • Public Policy and Governance Unit
  • Economic Unit
  • Business Research and Entrepreneurship Development Unit
  • Culture, Indigenous Knowledge System and Development Unit

The Unit Leader is responsible for the operation of the Unit and he/she reports to the Director of the Institute of Development and Policy Research. The Leader should be well versed in the specific research areas of the Unit.

Duties and Responsibilities of the Unit Leader

  1.  Lead and represent the Research Unit within the Institute
  2.  Develop research agenda and implement the same
  3.  Seek grant from internal and external sources to undertake research
  4.  Disseminate results and publish research outputs
  5.  Arrange and organize conferences, symposia and seminars related to the objectives of the Unit.
  6.  Perform other duties required by the Institute
