Addis Ababa University Institute of Ethiopian Studies XVII International Conference of Ethiopian Studies
Fifth Circular Dear Participants of the 17th ICES 1. The 17th ICES will be held 2-5, November 2009 at the Akaki Campus of the Addis Ababa University. 2. Registration will start at 1:00pm on Sunday, November 1, 2009 at Mekonnen Hall (IES Building). On the same day, at 4:30pm, an exhibition on the history of the ICES will be inaugurated. The registration will continue on November 2, at Akaki Campus from 8:00am-10:30am. At 6:00pm participants of the conference staying at Akaki will be transported to their lodgings.3. Transportation will be provided to and from the Conference venue. The shuttles will be available in front of the IES building and depart to Akaki around 7:45am. The shuttles go around and pick up participants who are staying in various hotels, such as Ras Amba, Addis View, Semen, Ras, Ghion, Ethiopia etc.4. The time allotted for each paper is 30 minutes, 20 minutes for presentation and 10 minutes for discussion. 6. We have posted the revised list of participants who have submitted the abstracts of their contribution for the conference on the Conference website: www.aau.edu.et/ies Submission of Paper The deadline for submitting the final paper is scheduled for September 30, 2009. The paper should contain a final version of the abstract, submitted in PDF format and follow the style guidelines posted on the conference website (www.aau.edu.et/ies). You need JavaScript enabled to view it edu.et Ethiopian Airlines Travel Fare DiscountThe Ethiopian Airlines has made a 25% discount for participants of the Conference coming from overseas to Ethiopia. Participants who wish to travel in the Ethiopian Airlines and get the discount travel fare should have a letter of testimony from the Institute of Ethiopian Studies for their participation. The Institute will send this letter of testimony to participants upon request.
Third Circular March 17, 2009 Dear Participants, Thank you for showing interest and registering for the XVII ICES. We have posted the list of participants, including the submitted titles of their paper, on the newly designed website for the Conference. In order to obtain updated and other relevant information about the Conference, participants are requested to visit the website from time to time.
