The Objective of the International Dean’s course is to bring together a group of about 30 principals, deans, vice deans, and heads of departments –many of them alumni of DAAD and Humboldt Foundation–from universities in Africa and to prepare them for the challenges of holding a dean’s position in a changing higher education environment. Considering the massive higher education expansion in Ethiopia in general and the Addis Ababa University’s major role in particular, AAU is proud to be part of the organizing team and host such an international training course for the third time that brings academics from different countries in the African continent and promotes sharing of experience in the current thinking in higher education.
