The Department of Accounting and Finance, since its establishment in 1962 in the name of Department of Accounting, has been contributing towards meeting the country’s demand for trained human resource in the areas of accounting, auditing and finance. Since its establishment, the current Department of Accounting and Finance has existed under different umbrellas. Originally it was under the College of Business Administration (CBA), followed by the College of Social Sciences, and is now under the Faculty of Business & Economics (FBE). The Department is presently one of the four departments within the FBE.

 

The Department runs both graduate and undergraduate programs in Accounting and Finance. The undergraduate program is offered in both regular and extension programs.  The department has currently 180 student s in the regular and ____ in the extension program.  The department runs directly MSc in Accounting and Finance and runs the MBA program in collaboration with the department of Management. The graduate programs are offered only in the regular program

 

In addition to running its own programs, the Department offers service courses  to the our departments within the faculty namely, the Department of Management, Department of Public Administration and Development Management and Department of Economics. Outside the faculty of Business and Economics, the Department offers courses to the students of Construction Technology, the School of Pharmacy and Faculty of Informatics.
