Institute of Environment, Water and Development (IEWD) is an interdisciplinary institute within the College of Development Studies (CDS) that integrates the natural and social sciences, to generate and apply new knowledge about the quality of our environment and the sustainable use of natural resources. It focuses on promoting integrated science, planning, policy, and development for understanding environment and development, and managing the impacts of development on the sustainability of our natural resources. The objectives of the institute are to produce graduates who are competent in the areas of Environment and Development, and Water and Development and to carry out research and policy analysis on specific environmental issues in response to growing public concern over the deterioration of environmental conditions, both the rural and urban areas of Ethiopia. |
