About The Gender officeThe Gender Office of Addis Ababa University was at first established as a Women’s Affairs Office in March 27, 2008, based on the 2007 senate legislation article 159. The Women’s Affairs Office then renamed as a Gender Office given its expanded duties towards working on gender issues (Click here to see the TOR).
Organizational StructureThe Gender Office is Functioning in a decentralized manner. The Central office is working together with Coordinators and Deputy Coordinators of Gender Offices at College/School/Faculty level.Currently there are 14 Coordinators, who are at the same time Lecturers, and 5 Deputy Coordinators of Gender Offices at College/School/Faculty level. The organizational Structure:The central Gender Office is accountable to the President’s office. On the other hand, Faculty/College/Institute/School Gender Offices are accountable to respective Deans and there is only a working relationship with the central Gender Office.
