Director for University-Industry Linkage and Technology Transfer

The Director for University-Industry Linkage and Technology Transfer will be responsible for planning the overall University-industry linkage and technology transfer activities of the University. He/she is responsible for coordination and facilitation of the development of University-industry linkage and technology transfer policies of the University and for the follow up of the proper implementation of policies, rules and regulations for University-industry linkage and technology transfer activities. He/she will take all the necessary decisions pertinent to the activities of the directorate for University-Industry Linkage and Technology Transfer. He/she will also advise the VPR&TT on all matters pertinent to University-Industry Linkage and Technology Transfer.

Duties and responsibilities of the Directorate of University-Industry Linkage and Technology Transfer

•    Establish formal relationships with Industries and communities
•    Identify and prioritize researchable issues of development (adaptive research)
•    Plan, develop and execute establishment of incubation centers in consultation with relevant units
•    Play active role in attracting market for rendering research services, in collaboration with relevant units
•    Plan and develop policies on Intellectual Property Rights in collaboration with relevant institutions
•    Solicit fund for proposal development related to adaptive research and technology transfer
•    Arrange for marketing of technology
•    Follow up the establishment of technological and non-technological Innovation Incubation Centers
•    Liaise  with existing innovation incubation centers
•    Acquire technologies and facilitate for technology testing and value adding
•    Demonstrate and popularization of technologies
•    Coordinate and facilitate the development of policies and oversee the implementation of Intellectual Property Rights
•    Collaborate with the relevant College/Faculty Associate Deans and the respective Department/Program Units in executing the above activities
