Research  Processes

Research undertaking at Addis Ababa University went through various stages over the long history of the University, combining in various ways, research by faculty, graduate students, through collaboration with external scholars and other modalities. The Business Process Reengineering (BPR) conducted at the AAU identified research as one of the major processes that needed to undergo reengineering. Tin the BPR, the research and technology transfer process was redesigned to include three major sub-processes: research development sub-process, research undertaking and dissemination sub-process and technology transfer and commercialization sub-process; each with its own main components indicated in the research and technology transfer process matrix given below and in the summary flow chart.

As one of the major core processes of the AAU business process reengineering, the research and technology transfer process is being implemented by clearly defined guidelines with corresponding formats/forms (see this link) and assessment grids (see Annex).
