Graduation Requirements(for Undergraduate students)

Students registered in this Department must take a total of 109 credit hours. A student who scored an "F" grade in any of the courses shall not graduate without removing the "F" as per other relevant rules of Addis Ababa University governing academic achievement required of students.

Graduation Requirements ( For MA program)

Candidacy for graduation will require that a student:

Takes all designated modules plus writes a thesis, or sits for a comprehensive exam.
Has a minimum cumulative grade point average (CGPA) of 3.00 or better.
In the case of MA (with thesis) candidates, a ‘pass’ or better grade for the thesis.
In the case students who sit for a comprehensive exam, a grade of “B” or above.
 

Note: The comprehensive exam, to be administered after the completion by students of all designated modules, will have two parts (a) Section one will contain questions on general subject area and will be attempted by all examinees alike (b) Specialization areas section which will have three different subsections each referring to the three specialization areas provided by the curriculum.

The exam will be set, administered and marked by a panel of instructors drawn from all staff who participate in the MA program.
