Appointment

 Dr. Getachew Kassa, an associate professor, a research staff at the IES, has been appointed Associate Director of the Institute of Ethiopian Studies. Dr. Getachew will be responsible particularly for research and publication at the IES. He Holds a PhD in anthropology and currently teaches in his home base, the department of Sociology, Anthropology and social Administration       

Society of Friends of the Institute of Ethiopian Studies (SOFIES) Lectures

Series 2003

The Society of Friends of the Institute of Ethiopian Studies (SOFIES) holds monthly regular lectures series throughout academic year. Members of SOFIES and their friends are cordially invited to lectures to be held in Ras Makonnen Hall. Programs for each lecture series can be obtained from the IES or SOFIES.
