Tentative Schedule
This International Conference on Educational Research for Development invites university leaders, academics, researchers, students, policy makers, practitioners and all interested educationalists and the business people from around the world to submit or contribute research articles or proposals of articles along the thematic lines indicated in this announcement.
The Organizing Committee invites the submission of (i) abstracts of papers (ii) papers or (iii) posters. The abstracts for proposed researches should make clear (as appropriate to the particular form of enquiry) the educational context to which the paper relates, the form of the enquiry or methodology, the central research question(s) or hypothesis, and the paper's contribution to education for development as well as key bibliographic references.
Scholarly thorough critiques of existing research or theory and any disciplinary or methodological perspective are also welcome. The abstracts/papers will be evaluated by the Evaluation Committee to be appointed for this purpose by the Organizing Committee on the basis of set criteria. A message of confirmation of receipt of articles will be sent to authors well in advance of the date of the Conference.

Presentation Formats
Participants are welcome to submit their research works (abstracts) to the Conference Organizing Committee for an in person presentation either as an oral or a poster presentation. Oral presentations will take the form of a 20-minute presentation followed by 10 minutes of discussion. Poster presentations will be on display throughout the Conference and authors will have the opportunity to give a five-minute presentation of their work followed by questions at a designated time during the Conference. All presenters/researchers must register to participate in the Conference. The abstracts/papers must follow the submission rules/formats that are explained below:
- Papers should be in line with the issues proposed in the thematic lines indicated under Call for papers.
- The abstracts should not exceed a maximum of 500 words.
- Proposals/ researches must be original works/ not presented before in any national or international conference and not published in any educational publication before.
- All abstracts must be submitted by December 31, 2008. Late submissions will be considered in order of receipt.
- Full paper of the selected abstracts must be submitted during the period of February 1-28, 2009.
- Abstracts should be presented in English. English is the official language of the Conference.
Once evaluated and accepted, the authors of the accepted proposals/papers should bring 25 copies of the final version of their full text of the paper to the Conference.
Please provide the author's full name, affiliation, mailing address, and e-mail address. Abstracts will be submitted in an electronic version in Ms Word format online to the organising committee (use the email addresses at the General Information page).
Please note that all the selected papers will be presented during the 1st International Conference on Educational Research for Development from 13th -15th, May 2009 only. Only selected papers from among those presented on the Conference will be published in proceedings of the Conference.
The Conference Organizing Committee will provide the following facilities for paper presenters:- Laptop Computers (the laptops will accept CD-ROMs and USB Flash drives).
- Microsoft PowerPoint, Word, and Excel programmes are installed on each laptop)
- LCD Projector (with screen)
- Overhead Transparency Projectors (presenters must provide their own transparencies).
