Important and Urgent Note

The College of Education, Addis Ababa University, the organizer of the First International Educational Conference to be held in May 13th-15th, 2009, would like to render all the necessary services and assistance to all of its international conference participants during their stay in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.

To this end, we would like you all fill in the application form and let us know at your earliest convenience (in case where you make change, please notify immediately the Conference Organizing Committee) by e-mail or any other means of communication. The office block for the College is about 20 minutes drive from the Bole International Airport, Addis Ababa.

Useful Pieces of Information

  • Right at the arrival point, at the Bole International Airport, The Commercial Bank of Ethiopia and the Dashen International Bank provide exchange and any banking services around the clock. Exchange services are also provided by a number of branch bank offices at the premises of the big international hotels in Addis Ababa such as the Sheraton Addis, the Hilton Addis, the Ghion Hotel, etc. For further information, please contact the above members of the organizing committee and visit the websites of the hotels from our website.

  • Registration fee is to be conducted in person at the site of the Conference in Addis Ababa, the College of Education. The payment is to be made in cash by US dollars, the Euro and the UK pounds only. Due equivalent exchanges have to be made by the participants themselves in advance to the Conference date. Details will be released soon as to the payment time and process.

  • Once you contacted the College of Education in Addis Ababa, you will be introduced to a Conference Guide ( a young person), who is assigned to serve you all throughout the Conference days and until you leave Ethiopia by providing you all the necessary information and by showing you all the important places you wish to visit for business or otherwise. The Guides have taken all the necessary trainings to serve you well, and they are very well conversant with the English language and other languages as well. They also provide you with details as regards visas, etc.

  • Please come with 25 copies (hard copies) of your final research paper for presentation. For details see our website.

  • We insist that you inform us in advance what special facilities you need for your presentation during the Conference. A special Accommodation Committee is waiting for you to meet that need of yours. The only thing is you inform us in advance.

  • March 30 is the last date to submit your full research paper. Please observe this date carefully.
