In addition to the dictionaries and several other books it publishes, the Academy of Ethiopian Languages and Cultures (AELC) continually reaches out to the wider readership through its journal named: “Zena-Lissan: Journal of the Academy of Ethiopian Languages and Cultures”. The academy publishes the journal twice a year.

Articles (written either in English or Amharic) and book reviews can be published in the journal. But the articles and/or the book reviews should fall into any one of the following fields of study: philology, linguistics, literature, lexicography, folklore, and social anthropology.
