AAU and Moscow Technical University Agree to Bolster, Expand Bilateral Ties
On November 7, 2024, a Moscow Technical University of Communications and Informatics (MTUCI) delegation met and deliberated with AAU president, Dr Samuel Kifle, on ways of deepening and expanding strategic cooperation in key areas of science and technology in which the Russian Federation has made significant strides.
“We treasure our partnerships with Russian universities in the fields of mining, space, engineering, physics, and mathematics, where Russia has demonstrated global leadership “, the AAU president assured the Russian partners.
There is much Ethiopian universities can learn from their Russian counterparts, Dr Samuel further said, citing the Eastern European nation’ s model of higher education curriculum development which aligns with its culture, history, economy, industry and national aspirations.
Dr Samuel said there is further need for bilateral cooperation in the various subfields of medicine, considering the significant Russian advances in healthcare from which Ethiopia’s health system can draw experiences.
For her part, Dr Irina Sidorkina, the Vice-Rector at MTUCI said the Russian university is a multidisciplinary institution prepared to share its expertise and capabilities with Addis Ababa University.
