Dr. Rahel Argaw, Head for Strategic Planning and Reform with the rank of Vice President at Addis Ababa University, has been awarded a ‘Lifetime Achievement Award’ on the 25^th annual health sector conference held under the theme of “Strong Health Finance for Sustainable Health Development” at Haile Grand Hotel on the 2^nd of November 2023.

The Ministry of Health of the FDRE honoured Dr. Rahel through the Minister Dr. Lia Taddese, for her great contribution and professional service she rendered in the health sector, in the presence of Honourable Mrs. Adanech Abebie, Mayor of the Addis Ababa City Administration.

According to Dr. Rahel’s higher education preparation, she received her medical degree from Addis Ababa University College of Health Sciences in 1997 and graduated in 2012 with specialization in paediatrics and paediatric respiratory intensive care.

It was stated in the Conference that Dr. Rahel has served as a general practitioner and specialty medicine at the “Yekatit12” Hospital Medical College for a long time and has led the work of the hospital as the Vice Provost of Medical Services and Director of Clinical Services.

It was also mentioned in the event that Dr. Rahel won numerous recognitions and awards for her contributions as a member and leader in several professional associations.

In addition to this, Dr. Rahel has conducted various studies and researches and published 16 of them in internationally recognized journals, and now she is currently serving as the Head of Strategic Planning and Reform in the rank of Vice President at Addis Ababa University.
