Second Annual Scientific Conference Kicks off at College of Health Sciences
Co-hosted by the College of Health Sciences and the Ethiopian Food and Drug Authority in collaboration with the National Institute of Health, and the National Cancer Institute of USA, the second Annual Scientific Conference is underway at the Ethiopia Hotel in Addis Ababa under the theme “Adapting a Point of Use Test Card, the ChemoPad, for Safeguarding Chemotherapy Drug Quality in sub-Saharan Africa’.
During the meeting, Professor Marya Lieberman of the University of Notre Dame emphasized the importance of bringing together collaborating scientists from four African countries and the U.S.
She said, “The primary aim is to collaborate efficiently to detect substandard cancer drugs, analyse findings, and strategize for the future.”
Professor Andualem Deneke, Chief Executive Director at the College of Health Sciences, mentioned that, following the conclusion of this scientific gathering, a clearer understanding of the ongoing researches at each location will be obtained from site reports.
The Chief Executive Director further said that new project ideas will be deliberated upon during the course of the conference.
Researchers, cancer pharmacologists, clinical caregivers, oncologists, pharmacists who handle oncology drugs and other professionals are in attendance at the scientific event.
