General Objectives of the Department
The general objectives are teaching, research and rendering services. The graduates in DDM are expected to acquire the necessary skills and attitudes to carry out all the dental practices that are needed by a general dental practitioner, which include prevention, diagnosis and treatment. The treatment includes treatment of anomalies, diseases of the teeth, mouth, jaws and associated tissues. The dental graduate also should understand the concept of community oral health education and be able to participate in the rural oral health care delivery programs of the country. In short, the overall objective is to train professionals of Dental Medicine who are capable of rendering comprehensive health services and conduct research.
