Program Objective:

General Objectives

  • to train high level technical manpower which can participate in the national development activities;
  • to carry out research in the areas of electrical and computer engineering which are particularly relevant to the needs of the Country;
  • to render consultancy services to the community.

Specific Objectives

  • To train electrical and computer engineers;
  • To prepare graduates with the capability of following the current and future developments in the field and related applications;
  • To enable graduates work as a team in addressing technical problems which may be encountered in industry in real life;
  • To provide opportunity for workers in the field of electrical technology to upgrade their knowledge through a continuing education evening program;
  • To provide graduates with sufficient background to undertake postgraduate training in any of the various areas of Electrical and Computer Engineering;
  • To engage students in research that offers optimal solutions to technical problems in the industry, energy sector, telecommunications, computer applications and other industrial sectors;
  • To offer consultancy service to government, industry and society.

Admission requirements: upon admission to the universities/Institutes of Technologies, students will join the School of Electrical and Computer Engineering based on the placement by the universities/Institutes of Technologies and the students’ interest for the discipline after completing the orientation semester.

Graduation requirement:

  • Complete 320 ECTS course work;
  • An overall cumulative grade point average (CGPA) of 2.0 must be obtained;
  • A cumulative grade point average (CGPA) of 2.0 must be obtained in biomedical engineering courses;
  • Conduct an independent research work (Project and B.Sc. Thesis) as partial fulfillment for the degree.
