Project Officer – Sustainable Energy, Carbon and Urban Resilience

Duty Station:   Sendafa. Duration of Employment:One Year with Possible Extension

Project Purpose:        Through this project, landscaping works in Sendafa Sanitary Landfill compound, preparation of final design of the Reppi Public Park Museum development including bid document preparation, preparing contract agreement document and supervision, availing items necessary for the operation of the Sendafa Sanitary Landfill and landscaping and stabilizing the outer slopes of all waste disposal cells and leachate treatment ponds will be managed.

Summary of Job Content:     The Project Officer will be responsible for the monitoring and project following-up, undertaking workshop planning, developing project proposals for major funding agencies, collect and maintain studies, prepare and submit project reports etc.,

Required Qualification and Experience

 

  1. Education: M Sc. in Environmental Sci. or Natural Resource Mgmt;
  1. Relevant Work Experience: At least two years in the area of renewable energy, carbon  financing and waste management;
  2. Mandatory: Knowledge and research experience in the areas of  renewable energy, carbon financing and waste management in the Ethiopian context.
  3. Excellent command of both written and spoken English,
  4. Strong ability to coordinate and facilitate activities,

Additional Requirements:

  1. Experience in developing project proposals, progress reports, and work plans, preferably on renewable energy and waste management projects;
  2. Knowledge and understanding of renewable energy, carbon financingand waste management challenges and main actors;
  3. Excellent interpersonal skills,
