AAU awards full professorship to thirteen scholars

Addis Ababa University’s Board of Governors awarded the rank of full Professorship to thirteen scholars in its meeting held on July 24, 2018. Considering their unprecedented achievements and contributions to development of the society, the University’s Governors Board has promoted four scholars from College of Natural and Computational Sciences, three from College of Health Sciences and the remaining from College of Social Sciences, College of Development Studies, College of Veterinary Medicine and Agriculture, Aklilu Lemma Institute of Pathobiology, Ethiopian Institute of Architecture, Building Construction and City Development and Institute of Geophysics, Space Science and Astronomy.

From College of Natural and Computational Sciences Dr. Teshome Soressa promoted to the rank of Professor of Environmental Science, Dr. Nigussie Megersa Professor of Analytical Chemistry, Dr. Bekele Abebe Professor of Structural Geology, Dr. Shimelis Admassie Professor of Physical Chemistry; from College of Health Sciences Dr. Abate Bane Professor of Internal Medicine, Dr. Abebe Bekele Professor of Surgery, Dr. Daniel Asrat Professor of Medical Microbiology; Dr. Workineh Kelbessa from College of Social Science Professor of Philosophy, Dr. Alemayehu Lemma from College of Veterinary Medicine and Agriculture Professor of Veterinary Obstetrics and Gynecology, Dr. Assefa Hailemariam from College of Development Studies Professor of Population Studies, Dr. Hailu Worku from Ethiopian Institute of Architecture, Building Construction and City Development Professor of Urban Environmental Planning, Dr. Tilahun Teklehaymanot from Aklilu Lemma Institute of Pathobiology Professor of Ethnobotany, Dr. Laikemariam Asfaw from Institute  of Geophysics, Space Science and Astronomy.

The rank is granted on the basis of the recommendation, review and approval of departments, colleges and the university’s senate.
