AAU, China University of Geosciences Ink Memorandum of Understanding for Research Partnership

Addis Ababa University (AAU) and China University of Geosciences Beijing (CUGB) today signed a research-focused cooperation agreement at the AAU Academic Vice President’s Office.

The MoU outlines the two universities’ cooperative efforts will focus on enhancing their research and teaching activities and further internationalization of their programs.

The two sides plan to conduct substantial cooperative exchanges in the next five years, it was revealed.

It was further disclosed that the agreement focuses on the organization of joint research activities, seminars, conferences and public lectures in areas of shared interest, as well as implementation of bilateral field trip programs targeted on geology and mineral deposits and creation of joint deep-time Digital Earth educational initiatives, including dual degree programs in compatible fields.

China University of Geosciences in Beijing (CUGB) is one of China’s main centers for the training of geological researchers and professionals, it was disclosed.

The Chinese university attaches great importance to international academic exchanges, it was further revealed.

Addis Ababa University Academic Vice President, Jeilu Oumer (PhD) and his counterpart China University of Geosciences Beijing President Sun Youhong signed the collaboration agreement.
