Addis Ababa University, HSE University of Russia Hold Talks on Continuation of Partnerships
Addis Ababa University and HSE University of Russia today deliberated on ways of sustaining their existing academic partnerships in a joint meeting at the AAU Senate Hall.
Samuel Kifle (PhD), President of AAU, spoke on the potential strategic outcomes of collaboration with the Russian university in the broader context of the BRICS- Africa partnerships, embracing science, politics, culture and diplomacy.
For her part, Dr. Victoria V. Panova, Vice Rector at the National Research University Higher School of Economics, said HSE University offers several areas of cooperation that could contribute significantly to the development of Ethiopia’s economy by strengthening efforts in areas of applied and social sciences, smart policy-making, science, technology, engineering, and mathematics. She further said that for 2024-2025, the two partner universities plan to conduct joint research on stability and risk analysis and comparative analysis of the Federal models of Russia and Ethiopia.
“I’d like to confirm the commitment of HSE University to developing and strengthening our cooperation with Addis Ababa University and want to unfold the potential of scientific and educational interaction and academic mobility, learning and teaching of Amharic and Russian languages and the development of digital education”, the Vice Rector said.
The visit by the HSE University team is a follow-up of a courtesy call of yesteryear by a delegation from the same University that led to the initiation of ties between the two universities.
