AAiT Signs MoU with Burayu Technical and Vocational College

Addis Ababa Institute of Technology (AAiT) of AAU signed Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Burayu Technical and Vocational College (BTVC) to work together, in attendance of the Mayor of Burayu town as well as officials of the two institutions at BTVC campus on January 13, 2022.

Ato Jegnaw Gizaw, Mayor of Burayu town, appreciated the visionary teachers of BTVC for their outstanding contribution and initiation of agreement to work together with Addis Ababa University (AAU) in general and with AAiT in particular.

Recognizing the shortage of skilled manpower, material supply and financial constraints, teachers of the College have played a key role in convincing the senior management of AAU to reach an agreement to have technical, vocational and material support for the college, he said.

According to the Mayor, though there is resource shortage and small number of trained manpower at BTVC, the professionals working in the college are fully committed and courageous to serve their institution and their country at large.

Matiwos Enserimu (PhD), Vice President for Administration and Student Services, stated that Prof. Tassew Weldehanna, President of AAU, signed the agreement to cooperate on education, research, Master’s and PhD training as well as material support for the development of BTVC.

Dr. Matiwos finally stressed that the quality of education at the national level can only be improved if universities and colleges maximize their efforts to work together in a well coordinated manner.

It is clearly stated in the MoU that the Parties are united by common interest and objectives that they shall establish channel of communication and cooperation which will promote and advance their respective operation within the institutions and other related wings.
