AAU and FBC Sign Agreement of Cooperation in Communication

Addis Ababa University (AAU) and Fana Broadcasting Corporation (FBC) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) regarding cooperation in media and communication activities at the President’s Office of the University on November 15, 2023.

It was explained during the signing that the purpose of the agreement is to explore the teaching and learning activities of AAU; survey what research and research activities are like; and promote community-wide development activities in cooperation with Fana Radio, Fana Television and Fana Digital Media.

It was also stated that the signing was made to create awareness on strengthening the success of the future teaching and learning activities through working together on consulting and related media activities in the communication sector.

Samuel Kifle (PhD), Interim President of AAU, said during the signing that Fana Broadcasting Corporate will provide remarkable assistance and cooperation in the transition of the University to be a place where truth and knowledge are freely expressed and shared.

Dr. Samuel added that in accordance with the objective of Fana Broadcasting Corporation, the role of media is great in suggesting solutions for our society in forwarding ideas that help our country’s economy sprint to prosperity.

Given the positive impact and wide range of reach of Fana Broadcasting Corporate, we think that working with it will be very beneficial for us, and I believe that our cooperation will be successful,” he added.

Mr. Admasu Damtew, Chief Executive Officer of FBC, in his part said that the Corporate will broadcast the information available to the people quickly and reliably on all the media platforms based on accurate knowledge.

Many scholars from Addis Ababa University conduct research in various fields, so we use the University as a source of information to analyze the issues we use for the media,” Admasu stressed.
