AAU Reviews the Second Quarter Plan Implementation Report

Addis Ababa University (AAU) conducted a review on the 2022/23 Fiscal Year, second quarter plan implementation report on a meeting held at Eshetu Cholle Hall of the University on the 3rd of February 2023.

Performance evaluation of the six months’ plan achievement of this Fiscal Year was reportedly stated and toughly discussed where Professor Tassew Woldehanna, President of the University, management members, college deans, directors and department heads attended.

Abdurazak Mohammed (PhD), AAU Chief Planning Officer, presented the report according to the twelve strategic goals and identified well executed plans as well as others which were not performed as planned in the second quarter of the Fiscal Year.

The performance report reviewed the main activities implemented on teaching-learning, research and community services of the University that followed by in-depth discussions on the questions and comments raised/forwarded from the participants.

Professor Tassew, the President, and members of the management forwarded their views for the issues raised on the discussion, and proposed solutions to overcome the existing problems that cause AAU to hamper from accelerating forward.

Shibru Temesgen (PhD), Dean at the Office of Student Services of AAU and member of the committee for AAU’s structure development, presented the draft structure of the University when it becomes autonomous.

Several questions were raised in the discussion and it was stated that all the colleges should study and submit their own ideas and the proposed draft structure will be revised again accordingly.

Prof. Tassew finally informed that the entire university community should use social media and other options to promote the university so that the new entry students of the country preferably choose AAU.
