Program Objectives – the graduates are expected to:
- Provide nursing care for individuals, families and communities in adherence of sound scientific ways of nursing processes;
- Demonstrate competence in the skills and techniques of nursing based on concepts and principles from selected areas of physical, biological and behavioral sciences;
- Participate as members of the health team in the promotive, preventive, curative and rehabilitative health care delivery system of the country.
- Demonstrate leadership qualities and decision-making;
- Recognize the need for continued learning for their personal relations and professional development;
- Demonstrate skills in teaching, management, inter-personal relations and communication;
- Practice ethical values in their personal and professional life;
Admission requirements – candidate must be a natural science student in secondary school & preparatory classes fulfilling the following criteria:
- Meet the set criteria of the Ministry of Education (MoE) for degree students to join higher learning institutions;
- Physically and mentally fit for nursing service;
- Preferably those who choose to enter the profession.
For advanced standing, a candidate should:
- Fulfill the stated criteria by the Ministry of Education;
- Graduate from an accredited college of nursing with diploma in nursing;
- Score a minimum of 2 or 60% CGPA in a previous diploma program;
- Serve in nursing for a minimum of two years but sponsoring organization may raise this within their custody;
- Bring CoC where it applies;
- Present letter of sponsorship;
- Physically and mentally fit for nursing service.
Graduation requirement – graduation is possible under the following conditions:
- Complete a total of 247 ECTS; CGPA and MGPA of 2.00 and above; No F grade; and Pass the national qualifying exam.
